Les pintures murals romàniques de Sant Vicenç de Rus, història i iconografia Authors Montserrat Pagès i Paretas Abstract The author studies anew the iconography of these mural paintings (now in the Museu Diocesà i Comarcal de Solsona) and through the preserved vestiges tries to identify the figures that compose the celestial court of Christ. The main contribution is in relation with the two beardless young men, one of them holding a palm in his hand, depicted in the embrasures of the window (with the dove of the Holy Spirit at the top), under the throne of the Lord depicted in the vault. Formal and iconographical analysis demonstrates that they can not be Cain and Abel, as had been suggested. Their likeness with the martyrs of the Lamb and with the blessed that, according to Revelation 7, stood before the throne of the Lord, as in other Romanesque murals, argues for this interpretation.
