Abstract

Based on the work of Jordi Pinell, this paper shows how the non Roman Latine Eucharistic prayer latine is heavily dependent on an early third century African model, that is already to be found, for the most part, in Cyprian?s works. This tradition displays many parallels with the early Syrian euchological tradition, as is shown in the «Mystical Eucharist», the anaphora of the so called «Apostolic Tradition», and even the Syriac anaphora of Addai and Mari, notably regarding the christological discourse.
