Abstract

In the register of the pastoral visit of Santa Maria de Besalú exerced in 1429, the only known visit of this place for the Medieval times, an inventory of the books in the library of the community, now disappeared, was included. The list reflects a diversity of textes corresponding to the liturgical and intellectual life of the community that, at the same time, may reflect some of the episodies of its particular history, such as its ephemere condition of episcopal see between 1017 and 1020.
