Abstract

The Easter Liturgical Drama is probably one of the most popular subjects in Medieval Liturgy and Theater History research. At Girona, the references contained in the 14th century costumary (consueta) are an important source which has already been largely studied by several authors. In the last times, the archaeological knowledge of the Romanesque cathedral building, partially still standing during the redaction of our consueta, allows a new reading of these data considering the possible architectonic context. This vision sets some questions about the relationship between Architecture and Liturgy as well as about the antiquity and models of liturgical practices and the architectural design.
