Consideraciones litúrgicas sobre el fragmento de brevario de la Biblioteca de Montserrat, ms. 1601 (Olim ms. 1117, folios de guarda) Authors Juan Pablo Rubio Sadia Abstract Ms. 1117 of the Montserrat Library is a 13th-century Cistercian breviary from the Monastery of San Clemente in Toledo. Its guard sheets, belonging to a cursus romanus breviary with musical notation from the late 12th century, were recently detached and have been registered with the signature Ms. 1601. This paper presents a transcription of the text and a liturgical study of the two sections of its content: Sexagesima and the first ferias of the second week of Lent. On the basis of a comparative analysis of the responsories, antiphons and readings, it is postulated that the breviary may have originated in the bishopric of Béziers, in the old ecclesiastical province of Narbonne.
