Una Llosa amb inscripció procedent de La Margineda (Andorra)

Abstract

During the archaeological excavation of the site of La Roureda de la Margineda (santa Coloma, Andorra la Vella), near El Roc dEnclar and the close church of Sant Vicenç, was fond among other similar elements a flat stone with inscriptions in both sides, understadable as liturgical-juridical textes. Though its contents are not completely clear and the functionality of such objects is discussed, we could propose an original funcion as a lid for a reliquiari inside an altar. In this hypothetical case, this finding would enrich the already large repertory of medieval reliquiary lids known and preserved within the Catalan area.
