Hegemonia i imperi a l'Himne a Roma de Melinnó

Authors

  • Carles Garriga

Abstract

Melinno's Hymn to Rome adapts the ancient hymnic tradition to the celebration of Roman imperialist hegemony. Beside, and beyond, other comparable texts, this hymn takes up the function of images, clichés, and traditional expressions to suggest that the acceptance of Roman rule is already foreshadowed in the Greek mentality.
