La Mecanització de l'agricultura catalana. Més d'un segle d'innovació tecnològica Authors Santiago Planas de Martí Abstract A lo largo del siglo XX se mecaniza la agricultura catalana. Ello es posible gracias a la aparición de un importante tejido empresarial dedicado a la fabricación y comercialización de máquinas y equipos agrícolas y ganaderos. En los inicios del proceso, también la Administración pública tiene un papel relevante. Por su parte, las empresas agrarias realizan un gran esfuerzo inversor hasta llegar a mecanizar la práctica totalidad de las operaciones. Hoy, los esfuerzos se orientan a dar respuesta a los retos actuales: el incremento de la productividad, el aseguramiento de la calidad y la salubridad de los alimentos y la sostenibilidad ambiental. En torno a este compromiso se encuentran las industrias de maquinaria, los centros de I+D, la Administración pública y, naturalmente, los empresarios agrarios.
