Incidència de les innovacions tecnològiques del món agrari en la vida rural dels últims cent anys a Catalunya Authors Assumpta Serra i Clota Abstract La família ha representat la base de la societat pagesa tradicional, tant pel lloc que ocupa cada individu com per la repartició de les tasques de treball. El cap de família, el pare, té la màxima responsabilitat. El segueix l'hereu, que el rellevarà en totes les funcions. Si no hi ha hereu, aquest lloc l'ocupa el marit de la pubilla, però llavors la relació en el matrimoni canvia a causa que la dona en manté la propietat. Els altres fills o filles solament poden ser mà d'obra, molt preuada mentre no entri la tecnologia i el treball sigui encara manual, fins que es casin o marxin de casa. L'entrada de maquinària en el procés productiu i recol·lector fa que molts pagesos es dediquin a la pluriactivitat. Però és opinió generalitzada que la industrialització en el món rural és molt tardana i que si bé comença a finals del segle xix, la Guerra Civil suposa una paralització i una autarquia que no es supera fins als anys seixanta. A partir d'aquest moment, la progressiva aplicació de les innovacions tecnològiques fa canviar profundament l'organització del treball i de la família tradicional.
