Can Morei. Apartaments turístics Authors Jordi Reixachs Carles Solsona Abstract Can Morei is situated in the little hamlet of Santa Càndia, in the municipality of Orpí (Anoia region). The main element of the hamlet, which is currently uninhabited, is its 15th-century Gothic church. The present owner purchased the property in 2006. Can Morei consists of two buildings, of which the oldest rooms possibly date back to the 16th century. Before their remodelling, the secondary building was a complete ruin and the main one showed serious structural problems. In 2013, after a period marked by considerable uncertainty, the remodelling of the two buildings began with the aim to build a total of 8 holiday apartments and several common areas in the form of terraces, as well as a swimming pool. The projectdevelops the idea of quality rural tourism, with large well-lighted rooms and windows, good views of nature, and peace and privacy in all the various spaces. Its proximity to Barcelona draws many families of foreign tourists seeking to make this masia a peaceful base for their activities. Special care has been devoted to accessibility and facilities in order to make six of the apartments and all the common spaces fully adapted. Can Morei's recovery has also had a very positive impact on the life of the hamlet of Santa Càndia, which was previously in the process of degradation.
