Arqueologia de l’est de la província Tarraconense en temps dels reis visigots Autores/as Cristina Godoy Fernández Facultat Antoni Gaudí d’Història Resumen La presència dels visigots a la península Ibèrica passa per uns moments determinants en els quals la Tarraconense és escenari de les maniobres d’un poble que busca on instal·lar-se d’acord amb l’Imperi romà. L’any 418 aconsegueixen un pacte (foederatio) i s’inaugura el període del Regne de Tolosa, assentat a Aquitània. La pressió dels francs, cada vegada més forta, esclata a la batalla de Vouillé l’any 507 i fa que els visigots hagin de recular cap a la Tarraconense. Barchinona esdevé seu reial a la primera meitat del segle vi, amb els reis Gesaleic, Amalaric i Teudis durant el protectorat ostrogot. Presentem una síntesi de l’impacte que l’arribada dels visigots suposa en ciutats com Tarracona, Barchinona i Ègara, la transformació de l’hàbitat, els poblats emmurallats, les fortificacions militars i l’abandó progressiu de les vil·les romanes, a la llum de les investigacions historicoarqueològiques dels darrers anys.
