La renovació de la historiografia sobre la nació a finals del segle XX i el cas català Authors Jordi Casassas Universitat de Barcelona Abstract L’article planteja la necessitat de combinar, en l’estudi d’un nacionalisme, l’anàlisi del seu cas particular amb l’estat de la qüestió de l’anàlisi del genèric nació/nacionalisme que ens porta al moment històric en què es du a terme l’estudi. Pel que fa al moment present, destaca la importància de la renovació historiogràfica protagonitzada per un conjunt d’historiadors, sociòlegs, antropòlegs i politòlegsa la primera meitat dels anys vuitanta del segle passat. I per la seva popularitat sobresurt la contribució feta per E. Hobsbawm. Complementàriament avança una hipòtesi sobre els motius que van provocar aquesta revisió historiogràfica. La darrera part de l’article se centra a veure quins efectes va tenir aquesta revisió pel que fa a l’anàlisi del catalanisme.
