El creixement divers de la Catalunya del segle XVIII. Protoindustrialització?

Resum

El concepte de protoindustrialització va ser útil per a fixar-se en les activitats econòmiques de moltes àrees abans de l’arrencada de la industrialització. A Catalunya, va servir per a prestar atenció a la indústria de la llana i a altres activitats i desviar-la del que es creia l’activitat econòmica més moderna, que era la fabricació d’indianes. Són les activitats econòmiques que es produïen arreu del país les que indiquen la capacitat d’aprofitar les oportunitats que anaren sorgint i com la industrialització basada en la indústria cotonera —però també amb altres produccions— no és altra cosa que l’aprofitament d’una oportunitat per a un territori que estava preparat per a fer-ho.
Es reflexiona sobre els orígens d’aquesta capacitat.
