Resum

Es descriu la forta evolució del poblament al Conventus Tarraconensis, les illes Balears i les Pitiüses amb la conquesta romana. S’analitza la introducció del sistema econòmic romà, amb una forta base en la producció i comercialització de vi a la fi de la República i durant l’alt Imperi. La clau del valor afegit que aporta el sistema de la vil·la rau en el teixit de relacions de mercat que dominaven els romans. La producció de lli també va ser important i es dedueix de Plini quina era la tècnica de blanqueig. Es conclou amb l’evolució del poblament i l’economia a l’Imperi tardà.
