Resum

Durant l’època moderna, la frontera septentrional de Catalunya conegué canvis importants, fet en el qual les guerres van jugar un gran paper, com ho recorda el Tractat dels Pirineus de 1659, etapa en el procés que portà a la creació d’una vertadera frontera lineal estatal que, a poc a poc, les poblacions van anar interioritzant. Nogensmenys, els fronterers mantenien relacions entre ells que feien de la frontera un lloc d’intercanvis intensos que els incloïen dins un marc cultural i econòmic de més gran abast en el qual intentaven viure «com a bons veïns», segons allò que explicaven ells mateixos.
