L'Expansió d'una monarquia feudal europea en el segle XIII: la Corona catalanoaragonesa i les conseqüències de la conquesta dels regnes de Mallorca i de València
Abstract
A meitat del segle xiii la Corona d'Aragó va conquistar militarment als musulmans la costa mediterrània de la península Ibèrica i la va incorporar al món feudal europeu, la qual cosa comportà la destrucció de l'estat i part de la societat andalusina així com un repartiment de ciutats, viles, cases i terres entre els cristians. La historiografia de fa uns anys destacà el pes del comerç i la burgesia urbana en aquestes noves societats, però actualment tenim una visió més relacionada amb l'expansió de llarga durada de la societat feudal i en la creació a Mallorca i València d'una societat de colonització. Lògicament, les conseqüències de tot aquest procés afectaren també Catalunya i Aragó com a territoris d'origen, i les constatem en els efectes de la migració dels repobladors, els canvis en les estructures agràries pels repartiments, l'ampliació de les ciutats comercials i els canvis polítics quant a la participació del patriciat urbà en els nous escenaris de poder: municipis i parlaments.
