Resum

Several populations of Ctenodaphnia were collected in several localities and different epochs in the waters of the steppic zones of Spain. A comparative study of the morphology and allometry of the nuchal plate as well as several environmental parameters showed a clear separation between the typical form of D. atkinsoni atkinsoni and the subspecies D. atkinsoni bolivari.
D. Similis is a new record for Spain and its population showed great variability, mainly in head form and the length of the posterior spine.
The presence of D. atkinsoni bolivari, which is common in North Africa, constitutes another example of the biogeographic affinities between the steppic zones of both regions.
